View Full Version : PHP Nuke
Has anyone setup PHP nuke on their site?
The general setup goes fine for me, but when it comes to the Web Site Configuration, I get MySQL errors. I've CHMODded the settings.php file to 777 (the file which reports the errors when I try to save any of the changes I've made), as well as the directories where the files are stored.
Do I also have to CHMOD the SQL file? Does anyone understand any of what I've just typed (I'm having a little difficulty understanding it myself)?
All and any help is much appreciated.

Hi,
As a starter, have you created the database, a user for it and added the user to the database?
Database has been created (nuke.sql). Although I did "upload" this from my PC as opposed to actually running it off the server (where I also have a copy), could this perhaps be causing issues?
User and password have all been setup. I can access all of the other site's features, just not change any of the settings.
Hopefully this has cleared some things up, if not let me know.
Thanks,
Leo
Here's the exact error message I get (I replaced my username with the more generic "username"). I've checked the settings.php file and found no real discrepencies. This calls on the config.php which has the correct database name, username and password in there.
Warning: fopen("config.php","w") - Permission denied in /home/username/public_html/PHPNuke/html/admin/modules/settings.php on line 436

Again, thanks for any help at all.

Did you edit any additional variables in the script that might be causing the problem in the config file?
I just re-uploaded the config.php, CHMOD (again to 777) and tried changing the settings. Worked!
So yeah, I must have done some other configuration that I really shouldn't have. Thanks!:)

We all do things we arn't supposed to do ;) .... hope you like PHP Nuke... when I used it, it was easy but I didn't like the way you make pages! LoL But it makes sites easier to maintain and update!
After a wee bit of testing, I've finally gotten the damn thing working. for anyone who cares to have a look (I really haven't made that many changes though, still using the same basic themes, etc.), the URL is http://www.cheappornomusic.com/ (don't worry, there's no porn :D )

Ooo... I like it! LoL... interested in helping me set up the Nuke? Um... what's the point of the site anyway? Can you download music to use in a porno film? I'm getting an idea here!
If only there was music to put up!!!
E-mail me if you want help with the Nuke thing, it's actually quite simple really, when you get down to it though :)
Laters,
Leo
