Help, I am a database guy attempting to use graphics and it is starting to become ugly!

Does anyone have suggestions on how to save a graphic that I made in Corel Draw in a format that looks good on the web? I have save the image as a .jpg & a .gif but both look like crap when I add them to my page? Is there any tricks that I should know?

This should not be hard but I cannot get my logo to look OK?

- cheers, Mike

you can get away with a little bit lower but i would not go with anything lower than 800x600 resolution:)

Sorry MadHouse but you are wrong. The resolution you are telling is the desktop resolution or screen resolution which can be changed through the control panel.

for web use you should have the image resolution at 72 pixels/inch. That the ideal one, anything above will increase filesize and download time, and you might get away with something less.

Here is a detailed article about image optimization, file sizes, image formats, etc, etc. You can also try yahoo.com and about.com.

Hope it helped.
