You know...... since we're supposed to be able to post about anything here, and I dont think Ive ever seen anyone post about television, and because Im trying to keep Crystal from catching up with me... Im curious to know what is your guilty pleasure show? (Yes, that was an amazingly run on sentence).

You know, what's the show that you watch faithfully but mock publically and would die if your friends found out?

Enquiring minds want to know...... :)

martianwax
04-20-2003, 09:32 PM
Ok, well this isnt a show I watch faithfully, but I have been watching more in the last couple of weeks, but I guess my guilty pleasure is .... "Gidget."

I know, its so awful and dated but that's why I watch it! I don't totally understand it myself.

And I will catch you Medelle.

martianwax
04-20-2003, 09:38 PM
Hey Medelle you didnt post your own guilty pleasure.

Could have put this question in the last post but .... LOL.

medelle
04-20-2003, 09:58 PM
I never said I had to post my own. :D

Besides, NOTHING can top Gidget. ;)

martianwax
04-20-2003, 10:06 PM
Come on! You can't ask a question without giving your own answer. I know its not anything with Anthony Stewart Head cause you would never be ashamed to admit that.

And yeah, so Gidget it really bad. That's why its my guilty pleasure. LOL.

You probably like one of thse syndicated shows like "Relic Hunter" or "Adventure, Inc." Those shows that are too horrible to watch, but manage to be syndicated for 5 seasons.

Hi, my name is Josh and I'm secretly addicted to watching....

TVSN (The TV Shopping Network)

martianwax
04-21-2003, 07:30 AM
Oh no! Sorry Josh, can I call you mommy now cause my mom is addicted to that stuff to. Hehehehe

medelle
04-21-2003, 07:37 AM
LOL @ Josh! I love it. :)

And no, Crystal, its not Relic Hunter or Adventure Inc. :) Good try tho! :)

martianwax
04-21-2003, 07:54 AM
Power Rangers or Barney. It's gotta be one of those two.

medelle
04-21-2003, 08:07 AM
Certainly not either of those two! Barney gives me nightmares!! Tho I did once have a really cool sound edit of the Enterprise (the original one) blowing Barney up. :D

As for Power Rangers - never watched it actually. Sorry. I have a friend tho who people used to call the Blue Power Ranger. They look uncannilly alike. LOL

martianwax
04-21-2003, 08:08 AM
Power Rangers or Barney. It's gotta be one of those two.

medelle
04-21-2003, 08:13 AM
Do you enjoy repeating yourself? ;)

I actually have more than one guilty pleasure - I'll say that much. :)

martianwax
04-21-2003, 08:29 AM
For some reason that posted twice. Which is funny cause last night I was sure I posted something and had to come back and post it again when it didn't show up. Strange. Anyway, sorry, didnt mean to repeat myself. :P

As for your last statement, we are still talking about TV right?

YES! We're still talking about TV!!! LOL

OK..... not really guilty pleasures, but here are a couple of the really stupid shows I sometimes find myself watching when nothing else is on:

Beastmaster (He can't act, and the plot lines are ridiculous, but with the way he looks in that loincloth who cares?!?!)

Queen Of Swords (Its Peter Wingfield and being the PW fan I am I have to see everything he's in when possible.)

And Dawson's Creek. Well, OK that's more like whenever its on. :) I know its overblown and they talk like theyre 35, but I still like it darnit! :)

martianwax
04-21-2003, 08:51 AM
Queen of Swords?? Never heard of it. It's an actual series or some made for tv movie.

HAHA! You watch Beastmaster! I now mock you!! Ha ha ha ha ha!

Now I am done. :D

medelle
04-21-2003, 08:58 AM
Queen of Swords was sort of a female Zorro thing made by the people who did Highlander. It was an actual series that lasted approximately 1 season - maybe not even that much.

The best part was a nekkid Peter in a bathtub scene. :D

As for Beastmaster - I never said it was an intellectual pursuit. I don't watch it because Dar is a poster boy for Mensa! :)

I should probably have added Queer as Folk (the US version) to that list of "guilty pleasures".

Basically Im a TV addict. :D

martianwax
04-21-2003, 09:05 AM
Eh, Queer as Folk isnt really a guilty pleasure. It isnt nesrly as good as it was in the beginning, IMHO, but its still ok enough not to be a guilty pleasure.

PW in a bathtub, thats not a guilty pleasure, just a pleasure :)

You know Medelle, you and I are totally dominating the board latetly. Maybe we should get out more. LOL.

medelle
04-21-2003, 09:08 AM
LOL - didn't know you were a QAF fan. :)

See? This is why we're friends. You recognize my impeccible taste. ;)

As for PW - this is true..... *whimper* Did you ever see Bliss? He's not only nekkid - we get a lovely shot of a tatoo on his behind. :D

And out? What's this out you speak of?? ;)

martianwax
04-21-2003, 09:15 AM
Yeah, I have no idea what out is to. I just know it is the opposite of in, but in is all i do. Make any sense. hehehe.

Lets not let the post get x-rated there ms. medelle.

How is this for a guilty pleasure. I have been suffering from insomnia to the thousandth degree for the last month and when I am up at night, I watch Mutant X, that X-men ripoff. The plots are stupid and the show really is not that great, but I sit there and watch it on Sunday nights when I am praying for sleep.

medelle
04-21-2003, 09:18 AM
I wasn't getting x-rated, I was just pointing out that Peter has a lovely tatoo on his lovely tushy. :)

Nothing x-rated there. Everyone has tushy's, and lots of people have tats on their tushy's. :)

SO :p NYAH!

Never seen Mutant X - but I'll give you a late night guilty pleasure borne out of insomnia - Vampire High.

Actually insomnia is how I first started watching Buffy. I was living in Montreal, it was on late at night on the local Fox affiliate, so I started watching and got totally hooked. :)

So insomnia can lead to good things - like a Giles obsession. :D

martianwax
04-21-2003, 09:23 AM
What is Vampire High. I mean, I know the name says it all, but I have never heard of it, so more details are good. Man, we are on this topic like crazy.

medelle
04-21-2003, 09:26 AM
Vampire High is sort of a cheapo Buffy rip off. It might even just be a Canadian thing. Not sure.

Its a bunch of High Schoolers who are also vampires, and theyre "protected" by this Giles rip-off wanna-be whose name I can't remember. Anyway, he teaches them and is trying to help them become human again, or something like that.

You can probly find it on www.ytv.ca

martianwax
04-21-2003, 09:34 AM
Yes. That show looks awful.

Does Reality TV count as guilty pleasures? I generally hate reality tv but I do watch American Idol. Does that count? But I won't watch any of those bachelor/bachelorette shows or survivor. Occasionally I do watch "Blind Date." Those people are so awful!!

medelle
04-21-2003, 09:37 AM
Reality TV SO counts! I watched one ep of "Joe Millionaire" before I gave up in disgust. :)

Ive watched Blind Date on ocassion. Never seen American Idol.

OH! How about Jerry Springer?? LOL - there was one I saw awhile back that was LITERALLY about siblings romantically involved with each other!

What amuses me is theyre all from the backwoods of Alabama or Tenessee or something like that. I mean how do they find all these people?!?! LOL

martianwax
04-21-2003, 09:46 AM
I can not stand Jerry Springer! That is the worst show ever! I think watching that show kills brain cells.

I do watch some of the court shows like judge judy and people's court. More guilty pleasures :)

medelle
04-21-2003, 09:52 AM
Judge Judy rocks!! :)

Never really watched People's Court.

What about Oprah or Rosie or Maury Povich?

Any guilty pleasure commercials? You know the ones that are stupid, but you can't help but laugh at??

martianwax
04-21-2003, 10:18 AM
I watch Maury every now and then. The others I don't. Does Rosie even exist anymore?

I dont know about a guilty pleasure commercial, but I love the car commercial where the guy gets a call from himself in the future warning him about a job and a girl but telling him he will love his car.

medelle
04-21-2003, 10:23 AM
Rosie is off the air, I dont know if they show reruns or not. Its now The Caroline Rhea show. Bleh! (Does this board have a yuck smiley? We need more emoticons Nsr! :) )

Ooooh, I HATE that commercial! I scream at my tv whenever if comes on!!

I do like the Saturn commercial tho with the guy on his way to his wedding..... that's hilarious to me.

And what is UP with that stupid Osbournes/Osmonds commercial? HELLO! NOT FUNNY!! (need that yuck smiley)

martianwax
04-21-2003, 10:38 AM
Yeah, I hate the Os/Os commerical too. I dont know the saturn commercial. more details. I hate the one where the guy yells out "I love this woman" in the plaza and then proposes. It just makes me nautious. Maybe I am just anti-romance, but that commerical just seems gross.

medelle
04-21-2003, 11:04 AM
Im wondering if theyre not showing the Saturn commercial in the US??

Anyway, its a guy who is on his way to his wedding. And it shows how much room the Saturn Ion I think it is, has.... and it says something about "plenty of cargo room for when youre ready for that big moment in your life" and he pulls up to the church.

And then it says "Or power steering for when youre not." And the guy turns around and drives off. Then he slams on the brakes and it says "And anti lock brakes for when you are".

And then you see him on an over look kicking the tires and throwing his tux coat around and then he's sitting on the ground banging the back of his head against the car and it says "Side impact doors in case you need some time to think about it." :)

martianwax
04-21-2003, 11:14 AM
Nope. never saw it. Yeah, I might hate that commerical too.

There was this one car commerical where there was this guy rushing to a wedding to stop the woman he loved from marrying someone else. The music is all operatic and at the end he rushes into the church and he looks at her and she looks at him and thats it. I think that is a cool commerical for some reason. Just the look in her eyes.

medelle
04-21-2003, 11:18 AM
Ive heard about that one, but I haven't seen it. Ive heard rumours that the one I mentioned is not being shown in the US and the one you mentioned is not being shown in Canada, tho Im not sure why that would be.

OK..... guilty pleasure music - I'll admit to listening to and liking NSync. :)

martianwax
04-21-2003, 11:32 AM
Hahahaha! You like NSync! I mock you more.

Actually, I like some of their individual songs, "Cry Me a River" and the song from "Drumline" so I have to be nice to you.

That reminds me of a guilty pleasure show. I used to watch the new mickey mouse club when I was smaller. That was where half of todays pop starts started out. I felt like such a dork watching that show, but I still did all the time.

medelle
04-21-2003, 11:35 AM
Mikey Mouse club?!?! Where Justin and Brittany got their start? LOL!!!!

I mock YOU now! I mock you with my monkey pants!!! ;)

(bonus points if you can place the quote reference)

martianwax
04-21-2003, 11:40 AM
I am sorry. I cant place it! Grrr....

We are already up to page 3 with this one post. Wonder how long we can make it. All these posts and yet, the only person who has jumped in at all was Josh in the beginning. Here we are pouring our secrets out and no one else is even giving us a little something! LOL. Medelle you and I are very big dorks.

Can you place ... "I am squashing your head" You, of all people better. I think I said it right, but even if I said it a little wrong you have to get it.

medelle
04-21-2003, 01:41 PM
Its season 3 of Buffy. Oz is talking to Willow and it has something to do with animal crackers, and he says that the monkey animal cracker is telling the other animal crackers that he mocks them with his monkey pants. :)

Squashing your head? I can't place it.... another Buffy ref?

martianwax
04-21-2003, 01:45 PM
No. It's a Canadian reference. Thats why you are supposed to get it.
Actually its, " I'm crushing your head! I'm crushing your head!"

Zach
04-21-2003, 01:54 PM
Darn, I would really like to answer that question, but I don't watch TV at all  :D

martianwax
04-21-2003, 02:00 PM
:) That makes you a step above me, Ms. Couch Potato 1999-2001, and 2003. I lost imy title in 2002 because someone posted pictures of me actually take a walk outside, on the internet. I redeemed myself though and won it back in 2003. :D

Belle
04-21-2003, 02:08 PM
Hi,

The crushing your head reference can only be from Kids in the Hall :)
Do not get me started on my TV addiction!
:D

martianwax
04-21-2003, 02:12 PM
Ding, Ding, Ding!! That would be correct. Unfortunately there are no prizes in this game so you just get a big :D

You are already started on tv addiction. You might as well continue.

Hey Josh, I dont know what you look like aside from that pic but in it, you look just like the kid from "Kate & Allie" all grown up. Anyone ever told you that. Did you even get "Kate & Allie" is Australia? That's another one of my guilty pleasures from last summer. For some reason I end up watching episodes and episodes of old television shows before they make me sick and I move onto another one.

josh
04-21-2003, 02:33 PM
Nope, never seen Kate & Allie. I'm 33, but look a lot younger - I even get asked for ID on occasion at bars and bottle shops. I always laugh my head off at the expressions on their faces as the shop assistant realises he/she's just asked someone who's quite a few years older than them for ID :D

Have you got yourself hidden on the forums Crystal? You're showing as not online, yet you've made a couple of posts.

martianwax
04-21-2003, 02:44 PM
Yeah. I am. Don't know why. I just felt like lurking for a while. I wasn't planning on posting this much lately. But what started as a joke for me, has turned into a fun post. Though I can't believe we have reached 4 pages. I think that is either sad, or I do need to go out more. LOL. In my defence, I am sick, so what else am I gonna do but troll the internet :)

And you don't look 33.

becca

Hello,

OMG Josh does look like Chip!
The Queen of Swords was a good show. :) I'm also a PW fan. I miss Methos.
Any Big Wolf on Campus fans?
I seem to watch a lot of programs from Canada. I loved Radioactive! (don't ask)
First Wave was my favorite though :)

martianwax
04-21-2003, 07:22 PM
See I told you. You look like Chip. I went look for a picture online but I couldnt find one.
Ok, I wasn't a fan of BWoC but I have seen an episode.
Never saw Queen of Swords but did watch Highlander. I loved Methos. Was he Methos on that show too? There was another highlander spinoff staring the highlanders immortal, immoral sometimes girlfriend. Was this the same show. I dont remember that title being the QoS.

Never heard of Radioactive.

Is First Wave that alien show? I think there is an alien show with that name on Sci Fi.

medelle
04-21-2003, 07:35 PM
Good lord! I go out and actually be social for a few hours and this is what happens?? ;)

And LOL @ Josh and his 900 some odd posts. :) I suddenly have the Bionic Man theme running thru my head.

Ooooh..... now THAT reminds me of a guilty pleasure - no not the Bionic Man, but from that era - Grizzly Adams. LOVE that show. It used to be on Sunday mornings when I was doing my undergrad. My roomie and I used to roll out of bed every Sunday just in time to watch Grizzly Adams. :D

I still watch it whenever I see it - which is very rare these days.

And I used to watch Kate & Allie - when I was in Boston it was showing on Oxygen on weekends. Lots of fun to catch up on.

Tho personally I think Josh looks more like the guy from Crossing Over than he does Chip.

And Belle - yup, seen Wolf on Campus before - kinda cute. And First Wave - LOVE that show!! Tho recently Ive gotten totally hooked on Outer Limits. Totally creeps me out, but Im hooked!! LOL

josh
04-21-2003, 07:38 PM
LOL, The Bionic Man :D

Geez, all these people I supposedly look like.... I didn't realise there were so many cute guys about :p

Belle
04-21-2003, 07:45 PM
Queen of Swords was not a Highlander spin off. PW played a doctor on that show (can't remember what his name was though)
The Highlander spin off was called Highlander:Raven.
Yes, First Wave was an alien show. Do a search on the lead actor Sebastian Spence and you might be able to see why I liked it ;)

BTW Does anyone else have TiVo? I can't live without mine.

medelle
04-21-2003, 07:53 PM
Yeah, QoS was just written by the same people as Highlander but was not an actual spin off, so PW was not Methos but rather an actual mortal. The series also had Val Pelka who played Kronos on HL.

They kind of played the whole subtext thing like it might be an AU or something, but of course it would have totally been ridiculous to make it an actual AU. Not that the show was precisely a grand intellectual pursuit to begin with........ LOL

Crystal - you would probably like First Wave - and PW was in an ep of that as well. (All roads lead to Methos! :D )

He was ALSO in an ep of Outer Limits, but I haven't seen that one.

And Josh - you majorly remind me of John Edwards the guy on Crossing Over - have you seen that?

And yes! I watched the Bionic Man - but I was a KID! Kids have no discerning taste formed...... OK OK OK OK - I had a crush on Lee Majors - but don't tell - oh wait.... er...... uh....... ahem.

Belle - I don't have TiVo - tho Ive heard wonderful things about it. I have cable, and 3 VCR's. :D (Yes, I need help)

Btw, youre really up on the CDN shows are you here in Canada?

medelle
04-21-2003, 07:54 PM

I have seen parts of First wave. Not really interesting to me. Dont know why. I did see PW in an episode of this other show with this guy who was working for the army solving cases and he thought he was dying. I think a lot of shows are shot or made in Canada now. Isn't it cheaper?

Oh, one other guilty pleasure.... The Lucy Show, Here's Lucy etc.., she always makes me laugh.

I think it is the biggest thread on the forums right now. LOL - you all have hit on my supreme dorkiness vein. :)

Im the nerd who gripes about subscribing to Entertainment Weekly and TV guide bec I get them in the mail two days AFTER they're available on the news stand. LOL

LOL @ Josh - I wont tell if you don't tell! ;) Any other disturbing celebrity crushes we should know about? ;)

OK, so I have to know Josh - is your avatar actually you, 'cause I actually DID think it might be the Crossing Over guy. :)

As for shows filmed in Canada, not sure.... I think part of it is because the CDN gov't is very supportive of the film industry in general and puts a lot of federal funding into trying to help promising young actors, and budding shows and stuff.

But AUUUUGH you reminded me of Welcome Back Kotter - LOL - I actually never got in to that show but my sister watched it RELIGIOUSLY - I was a little on the young side when it was in first runs.

She also watched Good Times and SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUL Train. LOL

Hmmm..... my man might have something to say about that, but I'll ask and give it a go so long as you get me one date with Giles :D

I must be sad, cause I am having a lot of fun with this post.

You're not the only one who must be!

He loves me, Ive no doubt, but I admit, he's got a pretty accurate view of my foibles. :)

Besides, who was talking long term relationship??? ;)

What about the Jeffersons? Anyone ever watch that much? Another one I never could get into. Tho I DID like the cartoon Fat Albert (reminded of it bec of Good Times).

I think that might be ROFLMAOPIP - not sure..... I just made that up on the spur of the moment. :)

Hmmm..... my man might have something to say about that, but I'll ask and give it a go so long as you get me one date with Giles :D

Im an equal opportunist - your man can come to. ;)

As for the date with Giles.... get in line boy! Oh my.... talk about YUMMY!!!!! *whimpers*

Uh yeah... anyway...... uh..... so...

Now, ladies, I have to go out for a couple of hours. I'm setting up a monitor to watch this thread so if you two get anywhere near my number of posts, it will crash the 100megs forums!

:p

LOL - mental note to self.... step up night time experiments on Josh. ;)

Hmm..... wonder if I could write a php script to reverse Josh's post count? :D

martianwax

Medelle, you are a bad, bad girl.

To write that php script, you need to learn PHP!! LOL. I will teach you what I know for $100 an hour and that great deal is cause you are a friend :)

Ok, I went to the bottom of the General Chatting screen and selected, sort by number of posts and told it to do it from the beginning. This is the second largest chat. The first one has 107 replies and is about cpanel themes: http://forum.100megswebhosting.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=979

Hey you are the one staying around and reading! It must be because we amuse you! :)

Hey, Medelle wants to know if we are going to get in trouble for posting too much.... :P

Also, what did the old cpanel look like if those we the three choices back then.

medelle
04-21-2003, 08:50 PM
LOL @ Josh.

You can't leave...... we have you trapped here by virtual .... uh...... something or other.

As for PHP - I'll get hubby to teach me for free..... I mean gotta keep him around for SOME uses! ;)

How come Josh gets the presents.

As for your husband ... I will not get a cat ... I will not get a cat .... I will not get a cat ....

And I know more than him. He said so. So :P

Any other tv shows you can think of?

Favorite children shows:
Gem and the Hollograms
Thundercats
Care Bears
Smurfs
Punky Brewster
Silver Spoons

medelle
04-21-2003, 09:02 PM
You won't get a cat? I didn't know you were thinking of getting a cat. :)

And my husband is wonder and brilliant and a genius, and Im not just saying that 'cause he's standing right here. :D

SMURFS!!!

OK.... embarassing secret revealed - one of my close friends from high school has called me Smurf since I was about 14. :)

Silver Spoons - oooh.... Ricky Schroeder.... there's another YUM!!!

Tho I was evil and I also had a crush on the dad! LOL

Never watched the others.... altho who was into He-Man? I SOO wanted a cool tiger like that!!! LOL

martianwax
04-21-2003, 09:06 PM
The question is where does the nickname smurf come from and I totally think your husband is wonderful and brilliant. He has helped me with my computer issues or questions many a time. I just think I am better at php :) but i will never be better than nasir and i am still just a beginner.

the cat thing was just me saying that i will not end up an old cat lady!

Ricky Schroeder now is cool.

I forgot She-Ra, that was the coolest!

You know who i think is so cute now, Zach from Saved by the Bell. Was that show the beginning of all those horrible saturday morning syndicated shows?

medelle
04-21-2003, 09:35 PM
Zach does nothing for me, sorry. :)

And I think it WAS the horrible beginning of those terrible awful shows.

There was more I wanted to say, but Im going to bed..... Im falling over......

Don't post too much in my abscence. ;)

smoochies to Josh. :D

martianwax
04-21-2003, 09:38 PM
Ken must be loving you right now.

And at first I was wondering why you were insulting Zach of 100megs (and was going to chastise you. lol) but then I realized you were just replying to my own post. LOL.

I am probably off to bed too. Tomorrow, you work don't you? I can post then. LOL.

If you send smoochies to Josh, I send smoochies AND hugs. :D

Goodnight

medelle
04-21-2003, 09:40 PM
No no no, I would never insult any of the 100megs staff... no matter HOW badly Nasir styles his hair. ;)

Yes, I work tomm. Unless someone wants to go to work for me??? *hopeful look*

Smoochies, hugs AND snuggles to Josh! ;)

martianwax
04-21-2003, 09:44 PM
Hey, hey. I thought you were going to bed. You know, if Josh can blush, I think he might when he reads these posts.

And I won't compete for Josh. I have a feeling, neither of us would win.

How did this post go from guilty pleasures till Medelle's house of infidelity? HA!

medelle
04-21-2003, 09:46 PM
LOL - the last question I have NO clue of! LOL

Tho a contest to see who can make Josh turn more red could be fun. :)

And I AM going to bed if you'll stop keeping me awake!!! LOL

martianwax
04-21-2003, 09:49 PM
No more. I promise. Though I must comment I find it interesting, we got to 7 pages in 2 days.

Come on Josh, you blushing yet?

I'm more red than I've ever been before, crying and nearly peeing my pants! :D

Thanks for the pressy Kris :D You know, Giles actually looks a little like a slightly younger version of my man!

Oh, and you'd probably both win Crystal - I've been known to bat for the other side ;)

Well yon looks like Spike Lee, except 100 times better and much taller. LOL.

You said pressy. That is so cool. Must be an australian term. :D

Wait isnt is like 12 hours ahead or behind us over there. You have been online most of today by my time. What time do you get up???

It probably is, I'm not too sure :)

I'm east coast, which is GMT+10 so it depends where you are. Right now for me, it's Tuesday and 3:08pm

I usually surface around 5am.

martianwax
04-21-2003, 10:14 PM
Here it is 1:13 a.m.

How do you get up at 5 a.m. What is that for? What do you do? BTW, didnt you used to have your site linked? I think I remember clicking the link once but the site was down or closed off or something.

Hahaha Medelle I got a "back at ya." What did you get? Nothing!!! I win! Josh likes me better. Josh likes me better! LOL. JK.

ROFL :D

I've always woken up early for as long as I can remember. A few years ago I worked in the theatre and in nightclubs doing lighting for shows. I'd usually get home around 3am or so, and I'd always be awake between 5 and 6am!

My main business is business and management consulting. I also write articles on technology and trends for various online and offline publications.

Yeah, my site was linked, but I'm getting ready to launch some new sites and services very soon, so all links are off until then ;)

martianwax
04-21-2003, 10:27 PM
I have been hit by this awful insomnia in the last month so i am not getting to sleep till about 3:30 - 4 a.m. I sure aint getting up at 5!

When do you launch your site? I cant wait to see it? Do you do your own design? I am horrible at design and I am looking for some ideas. I just need to redo my site which itself is comprised mostly of articles I wrote when I worked for some paper a couple of years ago.

martianwax
04-21-2003, 10:28 PM
I just saw a commercial with Spike Lee. Forget it, Yon does not look like him. He is a million times better, which is why I adore him. Oh yeah, and cause he is smart. LOL.

josh
04-21-2003, 10:38 PM
Actually, I really like your site! It's clear, clean and really easy to find your way around. To me it's stylish :)

I do all my own design, most of the programming I need (Perl and more recently PHP) and some graphic design (although I'm very lacking in that department!!)

Your online persona (MartianWax) is actually part of the inspiration for the name of one of the sites I'm about to launch which will be a slightly satirical weekly commentary on internet news etc..! Just finalising and tweaking the design now.

One of the others will be a directory where users moderate their own categories. Still writing the software for that, but it's probably about 80% done.

I really enjoyed reading your articles! You're an exceptionally talented writer :)

As a sidenote, have you noticed how the tone of this thread has gone up since Kris went to bed ;)

JOKE Kris :D

I wasnt being rude. Yon is better looking than Spike lee. LOL.

But yes, I have notice that. :P Kris.

What do mean about my online person being part of the inspiration ... come on you can share with me. I want more details! You dont even have to do it in the post, but I gotta know!! And hey if you need any free help with your sites, I am available. I love coding, and kind of still love writing. When do you think it will launch.

Thanks for the compliment on the site and the writing. I just feel like it is too plain. I need a change. But yesterday I added the ability for people to email the articles to other people. I was rather proud of that. :D

josh
04-21-2003, 10:59 PM
Your online name I meant - in particular the "Wax" bit. I'm using it in the name of the new site.

Actually your writing style really fits in nicely with mine! It's all still very much in development, but I'd love for you to write some articles down the track! We can talk more about that later on :)

I'll give you the link to the test sites in a couple of days - just a few more things to do first :)

yesterday I added the ability for people to email the articles to other people.

That's *very* cool! Does it send the actual article or a link to the article? I'd be interested in buying that code from you if you're interested in making a few dollars!

martianwax
04-21-2003, 11:05 PM
No buying! I will just sent you the code.

It sends the entire article. Its just simple php code. If you are using php you can use it. I can also add the option to send the link. So the sender can choose whether they want to send it as a link to the story or the article itself. If thats what you want, let me know.

I love php. You can do so much!

At one point my cousins were first getting email accounts and werent sure what to use as names. I was already martianwax (since 1997) so they just decided to make it a whole family thing. One became prwax (puerto rico wax) and another became leewax (her middle name was lee). I am always inspiring. LOL.

josh
04-21-2003, 11:11 PM
Thanks - a big kiss and hug for ya! It would be good if it gave the option of sending the article or the link :)

I love php too! I used to be a Perl junkie. I started to have a look at the source for php (which is how I learn all languages - look at existing code, work out what it's doing etc). Once I got the hang of php, I realised just how much more powerfull it is, and it's sooo much easier!

We are now WAAAAYYYY of topic! LOL

Gomer Pile - another of my "TV guilty pleasures" :D

josh
04-21-2003, 11:13 PM
YAY!!!! We're now the longest thread on 100megs!!!

WOOHOO :D

martianwax
04-21-2003, 11:18 PM
Yeah, but when Medelle returns the siiliness will ensue. I thought i was plenty siily myself, but you cant get me talking about coding! i an a total web geek!

i started learning perl last year when i was doing development for a huge financial firm. but then i got layed off and i lost my passion for it all for a little while. but i have gotten back into it all with php. the possibilities seem so endless with it and i am just learning now. there is so much i have to learn. i am like a baby beginner here and yet i have managed to create and admin tool and a few sites with it.

i will add the option to send the link to the artlcle and then we can get the code working for you :)

WOO HOO! GO US! We are freaks! Hahaha

josh

OK Josh, its a quarter to three over here so i am off to bed. Before I go though, I wanted to ask if you ever heard or saw a show called Press Gang over there. Its from late 80s/early 90s and it was about a group of teenagers who ran a professional newspaper. I have a few Aussie friends who love that show. I do too.

TTY.

Goodnight.

Hugs, snuggle, smmochies ... and a grab :D

Harumph!!!

Im hurt! Nay! Downright offended!!

OK, not really. :D

But just for your comment Im NOT going to throw out ANY more smooches! ;)

I can't really join in the coding talk, bec php still leaves me a bit lost. Ive tried and tried to figure it out and just haven't been able to. Keep hoping something will sink in. :(

Id love to redesign my site, but not sure what to do to it. Crystal has offered to help several times, but I want to do it myself. :)

I can throw in that Im getting ready to apply for grad school and I have to take a stats course. *shudder*

My hubby said that he wants to talk to the school and tell them that if he can get me thru the class within two tries with a B, then he gets a free masters. LOL

Gomer Pyle? Haven't seen that one in ages!!

And Josh - you have a Giles clone?????? Oooooh - jealous!!! :)

Does Dukes of Hazzard count? How about old episodes of 90210 or Melrose Place?

martianwax
04-22-2003, 09:02 AM
"Dukes of Hazzard," yes a guilty pleasure.
"90210" and "Melrose Place" are the ultimate guilty pleasures. Did anyone ever see that "Seinfeld" episode where he had to be hooked up to a lie detector so he would admit he watches "Melrose Place." LOL. That was his guilty pleasure. :)

I offered to help medelle redevelop her site, not redesign. I suck at design and my own for my site was taken from somewhere else. I just took the other idea and switched it around a little for my site.

I am surprised that Medelle didnt ask if your Giles clone has been known to bat for the other team too. Must be too early for her.

Page 8!! Go us!!!

Delerium

Knots Landing

When it was in reruns, my day was pretty much centered around the time it showed on TV (before I had a VCR :D )

A few others... Eight Is Enough & Growing Pains. And there was also Maude and The Jeffersons. and... and...

That's enough for now :D

martianwax
04-22-2003, 09:51 AM
As a child of the 80s I must tell you that "Growing Pains" is not a guilty pleasure. Its a staple! Unless you were born in the 60s and were in your 20s when it came out. Then yeah, its a guilty pleasure. Hehehehehe.

Can anyone tell me what the sun looks like. I have spent so much time trolling these boards this week, I have no idea.

Hmmm... I just thought of another few...

Mr. Belvedere
St. Elsewhere
My Two Dads

Alright, I admit it, I'm a TV-holic... and proud of it, I'll admit... I have no shame :D

martianwax
04-22-2003, 11:27 AM
Mayim Bialik will be on 7th Heaven in a couple of weeks, not that I watch that show. Sorry, its not one of my guilty pleasures. I do like Everwood though.

I remember my two dads! They never did say who her real day was. And Giovanni Ribbisi started off on the show. He was Corey Cupkiss.

I think I am the worst tv-holic of them all.

Delerium
04-22-2003, 12:05 PM
Welcome to TVA :D

Two other shows i just thought of...

Lois & Clark (Dean Cain is yummy :D )

Jack & Mike - this has been going through my head for about the last hour... I couldn't remember the shows name or who had starred in it, but I knew it existed. I think I must have been the only one watching it when it originally aired, since there are only 16 episodes, aired in 86/87.

After much hair pulling (which is no mean feat, considering I shave my head :D ), I finally found a site with the motherlode of TV listings - epguides.com (http://www.epguides.com/menu/)

becca
04-22-2003, 12:25 PM
Ahh, since we're dating ourselves just a tad, what about BJ and the Bear!!! Love Greg Evigan. And there was never enough John Schneider! I still have a couple of his albums(tapes)(really dating myself there).

All-time fave is Methos tho. I echo that YUM!!! :)
Tho...Legolas's Orlando Bloom is ranking right up there too.

Jack and Mike? Never heard of it. Actually if you need tv sites all you needed to do is ask. EpGuides used to be totally sefl secificient but now they mostly rely on tvtome.com, which has all the same listings and more. There are thousands of in-depth guides. See, I have gotten to the point where I don't even watch as much tv as I read about. Strange huh. Also, a tiny guide for just a few television favorites is tktv.net. I have got more if you guys want. LOL.

As for BJ and the Bear, I am too young for that. I didnt even know who Greg Evigan was till "My Two Dads."

Is there anyone who doesn't love Peter Wingfield???
And ya'll can't have him, I have first dibs :P

One day, he is going to stumple upon this long post and have himself a great laugh. :D

By the Way Josh ... I see you there!! Hi!!! :)

HOLY POSTS BATMAN!!!

Page 9 and growing.... woohoo go the 100megs geeks club :D

You know what's *really* sad, I had several dreams last night, all about posting on the 100megs forums and talking with Crystal and Kris! You two girls are in my dreams now ;)

You feeling any better today Crystal?

martianwax
04-22-2003, 02:02 PM
Awwww. You are such a sweetie and a big flirt. LOL. :D

I am feeling much better. I think I almost keeled over this morning, but all of a sudden, I am 10 times better. I am so loving this post too. I cant believe we are on page 9. This is the biggest post on the forums ever! And it all started with medelle.

BTW, Josh, pssstt.... look at my post count and look at hers. I passed her. Don't tell her though. It's a secret. LOL.

There was a post a couple weeks back about strange computer related dreams. I guess you dream falls into that category Josh. Good thing I didn't have any comp. dreams last night. I sleep horribly when I do, and its hard enough to sleep right now as it is! But when I do again Josh, I will make sure to add you in. hehehehe

josh
04-22-2003, 02:12 PM
hehe..... I won't tell her if you don't! Now, we've got to get your post count right up today while she's not here so there's no chance of her catching you ;)

I don't know if you can get them in the states, but anytime I get a cold I get ahold of some "Echinacea" It's a herb that's really good for the immune system. You can get tablets or liquid (the liquid tastes *foul* even in OJ) but it knocks a cold out in a day or two usually :)

martianwax
04-22-2003, 02:21 PM
I was really bad on Thursday and I had cough drops called Riccola. They have echinacea in then. They were the only things that stopped me from whining like a big baby. Then I finished the bag and I was a big baby. Today I found a whole bunch on the bottom of my purse. I wish I knew that on Friday!!!

As for Medelle, I was 40 posts behind her 2 days ago. People can catch up. I think I am the proof of that. :)

josh
04-22-2003, 02:33 PM
Heck, I've done like 42 posts or so in 2 days myself! Do we need to get a life or what :D

Another guilty pleasure, tv-wise that is :D "Mork & Mindy" remember that, from the 70's I think it was, with Robin Williams.

martianwax
04-22-2003, 02:42 PM
Yes, Robin Wllliams. He was Morl from Ork. 20 points if you can tell me what show Mork first appeared on. Mork and Mindy was a spin off. Do you know from what show.

josh
04-22-2003, 02:49 PM
pass :D We didn't get a lot of American TV in those days. It was mostly local and Brittish.

martianwax
04-22-2003, 02:54 PM
K. well you still might have gotten the show so i will give you a big hint: Arthur Fonzarelli. Any ideas now??

josh
04-22-2003, 03:00 PM
Happy Days???? Didn't realise it was a spin-off from that.

martianwax
04-22-2003, 03:04 PM
Yep. Happy Days. And "Lavern and Shirley" is also a happy day spin off. As was "Jonie Loves Chachi"

Any idea what show the Jeffersons (if you have ever seen it) is a spin off from?

Hey Josh, check out my post in "Site Review" and honestly tell me what you think of the site.

josh
04-22-2003, 03:15 PM
Ah, Lavern & Shirley... I loved.... um, Squigy??

As for Jonie Loves Chachi.... who didn't :D

Nope, never heard of the Jeffersons.

martianwax
04-22-2003, 03:30 PM
k. well if anyone else out there wants to guess, please do. till then no answers. or, i will answer tomorrow if no one answers by then.

Squiggy huh. Good luck with that. :D

I never watched too much Laverne and Shirly actually, i just knew it was a spinoff. Laverne's portrayer, Penny Marshal, is the sister of Gary Marshall who created Happy Days. i am full of useless tv trivia.

josh
04-22-2003, 03:39 PM

martianwax
04-22-2003, 03:42 PM

Josh, how many people do you think will actually take the time to start reading this post from the beginning to here. And do you think anyone cares about this post anymore besides you, me and kris when she gets off work? LOL.

josh
04-22-2003, 03:57 PM

martianwax
04-22-2003, 04:12 PM

BTW, Josh, can you name an aussie shows you think i might know?

josh
04-22-2003, 04:29 PM
Skippy
Sons & Daughters
Neighbors
Home and Away

Those all ran for a long time - Neighbors & Home and Away are still going. There'd be tonnes more but I can't think of em at the moment. Most Aussie stuff I think is pretty much trash :) I mainly watch Brittish (and some American) commedy.

Oh, "Number 96" and Prisoner

Keeping Up Appearances - LOVE that show :D

martianwax
04-22-2003, 04:46 PM
Ok, never seen any of the shows you mentioned. Hahaha. I do like British shows though.

my favorite is Murder in Mind. But now that I dont have satellite anymore, I dont get bbc america. I was also addicted to EastEnders for a while and though I dont watch it anymore, I read updates on the bbc site. That show I mentioned a few pages back, Press Gang, in a British show. It starred Dexter Fletcher and Julia Sawalha.

I just realized that I have no idea how you are building your page. I am using mysql to call my pages so I am using that in the mail function. Are you doing yours like that? Otherwise, I might have to figure out a different way to do this.

josh
04-22-2003, 05:50 PM
Hey, page 11!!! hehe

Um, I can do - I hadn't made up my mind yet, but mysql will probably be the best for storing the articles, so yeah, that's fine :)

martianwax
04-22-2003, 06:23 PM
k, so it will all work. you will probably needto change the variables but i will send it to you tomorrow probably. i am kind of lazy right now and i gotta fix it up a little. sorry. lol

Is this post dead? It seems kind of dead now. Oh well. If it is, may it rest well as the top post of them all. :D

By the way the answer to my Jeffersons question is All in the Family.
The Jeffersons is a spin off from All in the Family
as is Maude, Gloria (short lived program about his daughter getting a divorce and moving to florida) and, Archie's Place.

Crystal needs a life. Lalalalala. Crystal needs a life. Lalalalalala

josh
04-22-2003, 08:41 PM
dead??? NOOOOOOOO! lol

Crystal's not the only one who needs a life :)

I'm just working on the content management system for one of the new sites. Nearly finished :) Then, I've got to make the final decision on the name before I register the domain name ;)

Wonder where Kris is? She must have found a life (or she's on a date with Giles :D)

martianwax
04-22-2003, 08:44 PM
Kris just got off work. Long day. She needs some cheering up! Lets tell her how wonderful she is. She might also need to borrow your Giles clone for a little while. Is that ok?

josh
04-22-2003, 08:48 PM
LOL :) Russells at work and won't be home until about midnight. I'll book him on the first plane in the morning :D - I want him back undamaged though!! hehe

OOOoohhh Russell.
Russell and Josh sitting in a tree
K-I-S-S-I-N-G ....
LOL. Yes I am a child. And I love it

Well, I said he was for Medelle not for me. I would probably leave some bruises. Hehehe. Ok, first class to Canada for Russell

GRRR..... I am having a REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY bad evening.

I hate my job. I hate my co worker. Im starting to hate my manager.

I hesitate to post in such a public forum what exactly is going on, but Crystal knows....

Im just so angry I can barely see straight.

I wound up calling my manager at home at 11:15 at night and I feel like he blew me off.

Did I mention I hate my job?? *sighs*

Anyway.... to bring this somewhat back on topic.....

Keeping Up Appearances - LOVE that show!! Pooooor Richard. :) And that dishy Vicar! YUM!!! :D

Have you seen Yes Minister or Yes Prime Minister? (Both the same show, just sort of different seasons)

I knew the answer to the Jeffersons question.

Used to love Dukes of Hazzard. Any Smallville fans here? (Speaking of John Schneider)

OK, here's an oldy..... One Day At A Time. Fun show!

There were some other Brit shows I meant to add, but now I can't think of what they were.....

Did I mention I hate my job?????

medelle
04-22-2003, 09:00 PM
Harumph! Crystal's way ahead of me. NOT FAIR!!!

I need to post more. :D

Im also irritated with my dad, but that's an entirely different story in and of itself.....

josh
04-22-2003, 09:04 PM
That's no good about your job :( Well, a big smooch and cuddle from across the Pacific. I know times are tough everywhere in the world these days, but really, if you hate it that much, start looking around for something else! I live by the philosophy "Live to work, don't work to live".

You're not wrong about the dishy vicar!! I'd be in church regularly if our local one looked like him :D

Yes Minister/Prime Minister are brilliant!

The BBC are just starting to release then on DVD now and I'm snapping them up as quickly as they come out!

Some other Brittish ones I love are "Steptoe and Son", "Dads Army" and "Faulty Towers".

martianwax
04-22-2003, 09:05 PM
What can we do to cheer you up Kris? How about I make funny faces at the screen so you will be amused and laughed.

I am making a monkey face now ....

You can share my dad if you want. But like Russell, he has to come back in good condition.

medelle
04-22-2003, 09:09 PM
Fawlty Towers! I have the series on DVD. :)

And I saw that they've released Keeping Up Appearances and Yes Minister/Prime Minister on DVD. I want them!!!!

And I want QAF S2 on DVD.

LOL @ Josh. Im TOTALLY with you on that one!! I will say this at least - you have good taste in men. :)

Btw, Russell is my hubby's middle name. :)

So.... what did you dream about us last night? Anything interesting??

I have been looking for new work, but haven't found anything yet.... after tonight Im sorely tempted to not show up tomm. I have to call the Ministry of Labour to find out my legal rights.

OH! And what about Are You Being Served? F*ing hilarious!!

medelle
04-22-2003, 09:11 PM
Just saw Crystal's post about Josh and Russell. ROFLMAO!!!!

How long have you guys been together? Does he have any TV shows you can rat him out on??? :)

martianwax
04-22-2003, 09:13 PM
There is this english cookie show with two couples who compete. onr person in each duo makes the same thing and then they feed it to the others without them know who cooked what and a winner is chosen. what is that show?

josh
04-22-2003, 09:14 PM
So.... what did you dream about us last night? Anything interesting??

You, me and Crystal, all buck naked..... :D No, seriously I can't remember. All I remember is there was a lot of posting on the forums (much like really happened :))

Are You Being Served is a real hoot! John Inman (the very camp one) actually lives about 8 months a year not far from me! He does at least a dozen stage plays a year at one of our local theatres!

One other, don't know if you've seen it, Allo Allo - that was a screem too!

martianwax
04-22-2003, 09:16 PM
PAGE 12! Apparently I called this thread dead too soon.

and Kris are you feeling a little better now?

josh
04-22-2003, 09:17 PM
Crystal: That show's running here atm - can't remember the name though. Have you ever seen Two Fat Ladies? They were pretty good too!

How long have you guys been together? Does he have any TV shows you can rat him out on???

Only a couple of months so nothing yet :) My previous bf and I split up just last year after nearly 10 years together - lots of dirt on him :D

medelle
04-22-2003, 09:19 PM
Yes! Allo Allo - good show!!

LOL @ your dream. And really LOL @ you being in MY dreams last night! ;)

Actually I didn't dream last night. Im one of those people who either doesn't dream or has REALLY weird elaborate involved detailed dreams.

I used to live near Anne Rice. :)

Oh shoot, I just thought of another show and its gone from my head now.... poof........

OH! Speaking of my job - which we weren't. We got new tshirts today at work. Normally we're only allowed to wear tshirts on Fri, Sat or Sun. These new tshirts tho are NOT allowed to be worn on weekends, but must ONLY be worn on weekDAYS.

I swear to god, Im living in Dilbert!!!

OH! That was a bad show that I still see on sometimes. The ruined it! And Baby Blues? WTF did they do to that???? Love the strip, hate the show.

martianwax
04-22-2003, 09:22 PM
Seen two fat ladies, but didnt one just die last year? Or am I completely wrong?

Sorry about the break up. That sucks. But at least you have Russell now :D And a Giles clone is always a good thing to have around!!

martianwax
04-22-2003, 09:25 PM
Interesting t-shirt thing. I used to read comics religiously, but then when everything in my life broke apart I stopped. Now I read them every now and then. I like Dilbert, love Baby Blues, love Stone Soup and really love For Better or For Worse.

I saw the dilbert cartoon the other day. Did not interest me at all.

Medelle do you know the name of that cooking show i was asking about.

josh
04-22-2003, 09:27 PM
Yeah Clarisa died last year (she was the one with the glasses & black hair).

Never heard of the cooking show.

Sorry about the break up Josh. Maybe this one will be "Mr Right". :)

Does anyone read Boondocks? Hilarious cartoon!

I can't believe Im running out of TV shows.

Any Judging Amy fans??

SOmeone mentioned Growing Pains. I never liked that show much, but I really liked Family Ties. OH and Spin City.

Btw, Crystal, was Buffy a re-run tonight or no?

josh
04-22-2003, 09:37 PM
OMG, you should *never* admit to having watched Family Ties!! lol - actually, I used to love it but don't tell anyone ;) Spin City was pretty good too.

I've watched a couple of episodes of Judging Amy but never really got into it.

Dallas! That's another one I used to love when I was younger.

martianwax
04-22-2003, 09:38 PM
Buffy was a rerun.

You know Kris, I sometimes feel like I "really" know you, we talk so much. :D

Yep. I read boondocks. Check out my little sisters site that I made her: http://www.seasonalcutie.com
Recognize the little girl?

No, not a judging amy fan. Used to watched both family ties and spin city. Let me guess, you have/had a crush on MJ Fox???

Do you ever watch Murder in Mind, Josh. I think I mention before here that I love that show. Or did I just say that to Kris.

Oh and I realized I made a mistake on my sisters link. i fixed it. but here it is again: http://www.seasonalcutie.com

medelle

I had a little crush on MJ Fox, yes. :)

I also had Wil Wheaton and River Phoenix plastered all over my bedroom.

I STILL love family ties. Watch it whenever its on. OH! And Little House on the Prairie.

Spin City was a great show. I love the last ep where the tie it in to Family Ties. HILARIOUS.

Oh well on Buffy. I recorded it just in case. Missed last weeks ep.

Angel is new tomm tho, right?

Oooh, there's a yummy - Alexis Denisof. *whimper* *whimper* *droooooool*
Scruffy Wes is way hotter than Regular Wes tho.

Oddly enough, David Boreanez doesn't do much for me. He's OK, just not all gaga. Gotta admit tho Spike does it for me BIG time!!

Umm... I got CDs in the mail today. YAY!!!!

OH! Someone mentioned Lois and Clark. I LOVED that show!!!!!

Josh: Never watched Dallas, but I used to watch Dynasty religiously. LOL

And thanks Crystal. I feel like I know you AND Josh. :)

*huggles to Crystal*

*big smoochies to Josh*

martianwax
04-22-2003, 09:49 PM
Murder in Mind is this English show about people committing murder in different ways for different reasons. Its kind of about the psychology of murder. Now that I think of it, i think i did post this info before. but with over 150 posts on this one thread, i am not going searching for it.

martianwax
04-22-2003, 09:51 PM
Angel is new and huggles back at you. I would send a grab to Josh but that might be rude in front of you Kris. :D

medelle
04-22-2003, 09:53 PM
You just mentioned it to my Crystal about Murder in Mind.

PW was in an ep of that.

OH! Silent Witness. Have you ever seen that? ASH was in two eps of that. :)

PW was also in a show called Murder Most Horrid. And he was in a show called Medics. (did something like one ep of each show).

He played a med student in Murder Most Horrid. I think a lawyer in Murder in Mind and not sure what in Medics.

And he was in a series called Noah's Ark for a bit.

Basically Im a walking IMDB when it comes to Peter Wingfield.

He also has a minor role in the new X-Men movie that's coming out. :)

medelle
04-22-2003, 09:53 PM

martianwax
04-22-2003, 09:55 PM

you didnt tell me if you recognized the cartoon girl on my sister page.

k. i do remember the convo now cause you told me all the PW stuff then too. :)

medelle
04-22-2003, 09:56 PM
LOL Josh. Afraid Id try to steal your man? ;)

Somehow I have the feeling that wouldn't be an issue. :D

Actually tho - true story.... THREE guys I have dated in my life wound up coming out to me years later. In each case, I was the last female they dated.

How's THAT for a track record? LOL

medelle
04-22-2003, 09:57 PM
I recognize the girl. She's the little girl in Boondocks.

Would it be really bad to bring politics in here, if Im quoting a Boondocks cartoon??

medelle
04-22-2003, 09:58 PM
Just realized I said Alexis Denisof instead of Alexis Desinof.

Or is it Denisof?

Im so confused. :D

medelle
04-22-2003, 09:58 PM
Its Denisof. Im pretty sure.

OK, this is bugging me now.

Which IS it?????

martianwax
04-22-2003, 09:59 PM
The only bad thing would be if people took the convo too seriously and it got out of hand cause the post to be closed down.

and this post has touched everything else in life, its bound to touch politics at some point.

its jasmine from the boondocks. the little girl that is mixed and sees the world as all happy while huey tries to bring her down.

josh
04-22-2003, 09:59 PM
LOL Kris. What can I say.... date Giles so he switches sides please! :D

medelle
04-22-2003, 10:02 PM
That's who it is. I couldn't remember her name. She's cute.

I love that cartoon. So funny.

I was going to say, they had one awhile back that said "A profound person once said 'What good is a smart bomb if you've got a dumb president?'. " Jasmine asked him "Would the profound person be you?" - I forget what he said in response, but it was a funny cartoon that day.

Hope I didn't offend anyone.

Crystal, Kris was saying how 3 guys she dated all came out after they broke up with her. Switching sides is a term used for which side they "bat for" ie gay, straight etc.. :)

I've got to fly off to a meeting now in the "artificial world" (the real world being these forums :D)

Big smoochies, hugs and a couple of gropes thrown in to you both.

No catching up to my.... 967 posts now girls ;)

medelle
04-22-2003, 10:17 PM

Hey Josh..... if youre 10 hours plus GMT then youre 15 hours a head of Crystal and I... and never mind...... Im a dork.... its like 4:30 in the afternoon there. D'oh.

I was trying to figure out why you would have a meeting at 3 in the morning. LOL

I am so easily susceptible. Yesterday josh said he dreamed of posting to the board and now I dreamed of it last night!!! Uggghh, I told you all computer related dreams mean I dont get a good night's sleep. I am now really exhausted!

The funny thing is I dreamed the Ruben came on and yelled at us for making on post so long. LOL.

I dreamt I got fired. I dreamt we got robbed and the co worker Im so irritated at ran and hid while it was happening.

Can we say stressed??

medelle

So speaking of TV - whats yer guilty pleasure movie? Same idea - you'd possibly die if your friends knew you loved it, but for some reason you can't resist.. :)

I'll even vollunteer this time - The Pirate Movie. Christopher Atkins, Kristy McNichol. Stupid stupid stupid movie, but I LOVE it! LOL

medelle
04-23-2003, 10:05 AM
Yeah, I work tonight - and tomm..... bleh.

Im really worried about my job situation now.... I have a feeling its going to be made to be very uncomfortable for me.

I feel like I need to tell my boss to fire this sorry guy's ass, but I dont know.....

Ken keeps telling me I did the right thing, but Im starting to wonder.

If I did the right thing why am *I* feeling like the one whose going to be punished??

medelle
04-23-2003, 10:14 AM
Another movie guilty pleasure. Monster's Inc.

Oh and a tv one. The Muppets. :)

We've actually started selling these little Muppet finger puppets at work - we have Beaker, Fozzie and Kermit. Beaker seems to be the most popular, but theyre all selling like hotcakes. Its hilarious to watch people's faces when they come in and see them. :)

And is it me or is the Cosby show really not as great in reruns as it used to be?

martianwax
04-23-2003, 10:17 AM
You are just posting for the sake of it arent you Kris! LOL.

I dont know about a guilty movie pleasure. It would have to be really bad. I will think of it.

And maybe you feel like you will be the one punished because your managers reaction wasnt as big as you expected and because you havent been there that long.

medelle
04-23-2003, 10:27 AM

martianwax

Oh my lord!

I haven't seen this is in AGES!!!

I was flipping channels and Bosom Buddies came on.

OH! And did anyone ever watch Greatest American Hero? Trivia: what other 80's series was the main lead guy from Greatest American Hero in? :)

That is my secret shame job that I dont tell people too often cause i figure if they think you worked for someplace having to do with soaps, you are a dork. but I am a dork, so i wont be ashamed anymore.

Any jobs you hate to tell people you had?

martianwax
04-23-2003, 10:36 AM
Um, the lead guy from Greatest American Hero was also in Perry Mason. Did he have a series in the 80s or just a bunch of tv movies

martianwax
04-23-2003, 10:37 AM
Hey, can you tell me in Perry Mason, who the GAH guy was related to, and his real name? There is my trivia question

medelle
04-23-2003, 10:41 AM
Youre not a dork. There are worse jobs than working for a soap magazine. :)

My shame job is I got fired from a pizza place after about an hour. *sighs*

Perry Mason was not the show I was thinking of. Didn't know he was on Perry Mason.

I was thinking of Crazy Like a Fox. Had the superhero guy from GAH and some other guy who played his dad, but I can't remember the other guys name....

martianwax
04-23-2003, 10:42 AM
Ok, well he played PM investigator in his tv movies and in real life his mother was the woman who played perry's assistant, della street. his real name is william katt.

04-23-2003, 10:42 AM

Not a daytime soap fan, but... I will admit to watching a few years worth of Another World.

Just off topic: regarding the WHO travel advisory against Toronto... please tell me why this is such a big issue when last yeat over 200 people died in the US from West Nile Virus, yet no travel advisory was issued. Seems like a highly politically motivtaed travel ban. (OK, enough ranting :D , but this ban will really hurt us).

Did you know ASH's mum played his mum on a movie or a play he did? Or something like that. It was one of his early things. :)

I wonder if we could play some 6 degrees of seperation with all the tv stars. Like lead from Punky Brewster back to some other show in six steps. Pick a show.

I got fired bec I was seriously not cut out to wait tables. I think I spilled an entire pizza or plate of pasta in the lap of a patron.

It was a mutual agreement sort of thing.
LOL

One of the shows I had to watch was Another World delerium. I still have all my synopses backed up. I worked there for six months and they offered me a free subscription to stay a year, but I was like sorry!

Well, there's 6 degrees to Kevin Bacon but everyone does that. :)

We could do six degrees to Peter Wingfield or to ASH. :D

Or six degrees to Buffy.....

Or six degrees to "we really need lives"

I know someone who does 6 degrees to Chip Esten.

Oh! Another fun show - Whose Line Is It Anyway. The US version. Colin Mochrie cracks me up every time.

I complete forgot 2 shows mentioned earlier. Bosom Buddies and Greatest American Hero were great shows. Right up there with the old Incredible Hulk and Knight Rider!!!!

ONLY a free subscription? That's sucky!!! They should have given you a free TiVo or VCR or something. :)

Bleh. Stingy media people.

Never watched Another World. Was it that or AMC that SMG was in?

Knight Rider! Almost forgot about that one! And then later David Hasselhoff was on Baywatch. LOL

How MANY incarnations of Baywatch have they done? And then there was that stupid stupid stupid obnoxious FX Baywatch rip off "Son of the Beach" (we really need an icon to express disgust).
