Hiya folks.

I have a home network problem. The network consists of two brand shpankin new XP machines connected to a proxy server, which runs Win98. (I have a one way cable connection, which runs thru an ISA modem, and then uploads via a telephone line. Far from ideal, but my only option.) Currently I use ProLan602 (http://www.software602.com/products/ls/) as my proxy server, but I’m having a few difficulties with it, what I suspect are 98 to XP conversion issues. (you know, the extra paranoid edition?) Might anyone out there be able to recommend a different proxy solution, preferably on the free side? Supposedly 2way cable is to be installed in my area, I’ve even seen them trenching in new fiber, but as an electrician, I understand the wheels of broadband turn slowly. No Java application behind the proxy server will connect to the internet server. Flippin’ Micro$haft. Regardless, thanks in advance for your time, and I’ll be certain to try out any recommendations and to post further updates.
