Retail online?

Hi everyone, I was just wondering... First of all, I work for a retail company, & I work on the website, which lets consumers view the products on our catalog. My boss wants a Retail website where clients & consumers can order through the internet. Could someone please tell me how I would go about doing this? Thank you.

You could try some of the open source products out there. osCommerce been one of them (also offered for install by 100megs)

There are many other solutions out there, some costing 100's or even 1000's of dollars.

You need to be very careful which ever solution you go for about the security / credit card payments etc.

Kind of depends on how many products and the level detail you need to go into. I would only suggest NOT Interchange. It is pretty robust but a major pain.

What level of automation you need is another thing too. Got a budget in mind? :D
