Greetings ...

I am considering getting a scanner with 35mm slide/negative scanning capability.

KEY QUESTIONS

Suppose you have some old negatives that are cut into individual frames, as opposed to a complete 4-frame strip. Are there adaptors that compensate for the individual frames?

I am also considering using plastic 35mm slide mounts to handle the individual negatives. If anyone has tried this method, please let me know how it worked out.

I've never tried the plastic slide mounts, but I use a Microtek flatbed film scanner. Since it has a lid that comes down on the negative, it doesn't matter how long or short my negative strip is. It even will go as large as a 4x5 negative. Hope this helps a little.

Thank you for your reply. Could you please tell me the model number of your Microtek Scanner.

It's actually a ScanMaker 5900. It's close to a year old now, so I know they've got more advanced ones out now.
